Inclusive Design

Belonging and including are two sides of the same coin. We can flip the disenfranchisement of many diverse populations on its head. [Author: Bill Fischer]

Inclusive Optics

  • Integrating physical, gender, ethnic, religious, racial, age, and neurodiversity allows media creators to beat the drum of inclusion.
  • Showing diversity within diversity can provide an uncontrived and authentic representation of the world we want to live in.

Avoiding Implicit Bias

  • Examples of this can include negative stereotyping based on gender, race, fashion choices, body types, etc.
  • The key difference between implicit bias and overt racism, sexism, etc., is that it is not always a conscious choice. Rather it is subtly shaped by one's socio-cultural experience.
